App randomly skips backwards or forwards in textbooks

Using a brand new Macbook 12inch laptop I installed the Kindle app. I like the ability to rent text books for my masters degree and have rented everything from Amazon (you’re welcome Amazon)

What I don’t like is when scrolling forward on my brand new macbook trackpad in the Kindle app, my Amazon text book will randomly decide to scroll backwards 3-5 pages for no rhyme or reason. This is very disruptive and makes me question renting text books from Amazon.

When I copy and paste text notes from the Kindle app into another program and navigate back to the Kindle app, it somehow assumes this motion is connected to wanting to scroll forward and it jumps about 50-100 pages forward.

This isn’t convincing me that I should use this app or rent textbooks from Amazon. (There’s your business impact - please take note Amazon)
